Gambling is counted amongst the top 10 things to do in Goa. Now, before you raise that damn eyebrow, we are surely not recommending you to turn a full-on gambler. Just like boozing comes naturally to the Goa travelers, so does entering a casino. And dare we say, there is no dearth of a yummy casino in this part of India.
Goa is oozing with 5-star hotels and many of them run their own private casinos. You do not need to book a room in order to enjoy these casinos. You can just walk any evening and enjoy your night till you are broke. Oh, don’t feel so low! The last we heard a woman walked out of one, richer by quite a few thousands.
Goa tour package also gives you the luxury of going for a river cruise on the famed Mandovi. And while you are at it, you may just sneak into a floating casino which is going to tempt you the way an apple tempted Mr. Adam.
Perhaps, I am digressing. So, I will come straight to the point and I hereby announce that one of the best, if not the best, casino in Goa is Casino Royale. It is a floating casino and the biggest and most reputed which the state has to drum up. With 30 slot machines and 50 tables, this place at Panjim draws a heavy crowd. Perhaps, the popular axiom of rags to riches’ has got its roots at this place, who knows! You can dress casually but refrain from showing skin. This place is open round the clock, so you may just get carried away, which can be a good thing if you are winning (but not, if you are losing)! Be prepared to shell out a minimum of Rs 1500 to gain entry.
Casino Pride (in Mandovi River, Panjim) is quite similar to Casino Royale. It’s slightly smaller and slightly cheaper, but has a Kid’s Zone to let your children have their own kind of fun while you have yours!
Not far from Mirama Beach, you may just walk into the Casino Carnival, another popular place to spend your night (and money) away. With 27 gaming tables and 2 floors, you will find this casino a hot and happening corner for sure.
If you are stationed in South Goa, the newly opened Dunes (at the Zuri White Sands resort) will be the best bet. It is situated by Varca Beach, Cavelossim, and requires you to dole out Rs 500 to gain entry. American Roulette is its biggest USP though there are a number of other thrilling games as well.
